Redframer: Scrubber Demos
Scrubber and advanced narrative-based AI system. At Sirius-Beta, I collaborate on the development of a suite of online annotation tools for film and video narrative.

Example: Game of Thrones
Three different parts of the Redframer tool allow connection between scenes, video snatches and other information. My analysis of situation shift in Game of Thrones, presented at the AAAI Intelligent Narrative Technologies 7 workshop, gives a sense of the kind of narrative structure the tool captures — see Narrative Causal Impetus: Governance through Situation Shift in Game of Thrones.
Example: Memento
A user makes a comment about a significant object (a clock) in Memento. Annotations attach to objects and follow them across the film’s reversed timeline, so a narrative object can be traced as the story recontextualizes it.
Composition of frames for annotation
The space-time scrubber arranges the frames of a film into a navigable composition, so that the temporal structure of the story can be examined directly rather than linearly.
